Anti-spam firm MXSweep has reported that MP3-based pump-and-dump spam now accounts for up to 10 per cent of all spam sent. The penny stocks are being promoted with MP3 voice messages with deceptive sounding names like 'santana.mp3', 'bspears.mp3' or 'coolringtone.mp3'.
